My back is against a wall
The bridge collapsing below
the waves beneath haunt me
beckoning and calling
that luring pull that promises so much
the sweet release I crave
Oh, if only to fall
I would soar if only for a moment
Your hand beseeches me
begs me to step away
The ledge crumbles
I wouldn't even have to move
Do I risk stepping back?
Back to what?
Only pain and misery await me
Illusions and lies
pointless hopes and dreams
The waves match your eyes
If it makes you happy
it can't be that bad

I smile and step foward
Crashing into the waves
I soar if only for a moment
